Hanauma Bay Guided Snorkel Tour
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is the most popular snorkel destination in Hawaii. The Hanauma Bay crater was formed by volcanic eruption 32, 000 years ago. There are over 350 speices of tropical fish living in Hanauma Bay and many Hawaii geen sea turtles. Hanauma Bay has an average of 3, 000 visitors a day. There is a nine minute educational video that all visitors must see before entering Hanauma Bay. The video covers the creation of Hanauma Bay and how to protect the reef and Hawaii eco system. The video also covers some safety features about snorkeling and some potential dangerous areas of the bay.
Our Hanauma Bay Dive Tours scuba instructors are well aware of all the possible dangerous ares of the bay and take our customers to the safest most interesting areas in the bay on our guided snorkel tours or scuba dives. Every day ocean conditions are different and there are many factors that we use to decide where to take our customers for the best Hanauma Bay snorkel or scuba diving experience.
There are many snorkel tours that are not guided. These tours provide a mask, snorkel and fins and drop you off at the bay and pick you up a couple of hours later. These tours are much cheaper than ours and are offered six days a week. Hanauma Bay is closed on Tuesday. Hanauma Bay Dive Tours obtain permits from the State Department of Parks and Recreation which allows us to bring in five people with one instructor on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We are not allowed to work on week ends and Hawaii State Holidays. We do not have to wait in line to get into the park because we have these permits. The wait in line can be very long during peak seasons. We also are allowed into Hanauma Bay when the parking lot is full.
If you would like a small personalized tour of Hanauma Bay, Hanauma Bay Dive Tours snorkel tour is for you. Our average tour size is 4 people with one instructor.
